The Sims 4
The Sims 4 now supports DirectX 11, which means you can use all the awesome shaders from ReShade without running into those annoying compilation errors. Let’s get you set up!
Steam
Right-Click The Sims 4 in Steam
- Open your Steam Library.
- Find “The Sims 4” in your list of games.
- Right-click on “The Sims 4.”
Click on “Properties”
- After right-clicking, a menu will pop up.
- Click on “Properties” from the list.
Enter the DX11 Launch Parameter
- In the Properties window, look for the “Launch Options” section.
- In the text box under “Launch Options,” type in
-dx11
.
Install ReShade as Usual
Now that everything is complete, you can install ReShade as usual (if you need help, make sure to follow our guide on how to installing ReShade). Once are prompted to select a Rendering API make sure to select “DirectX 10/11/12”.
EA App
Open the EA App
- Launch the EA App on your computer.
- Find “The Sims 4” in your game library.
Click on “Manage”
- Hover over “The Sims 4” in your library.
- Click on the three dots (usually in the corner of the game tile).
- Select “Manage” from the drop-down menu.
Enter the DX11 Launch Parameter
- In the Manage menu, look for “Advanced Launch Options.”
- Find the box labeled “Command Line Arguments.”
- In the text box, type in
-dx11
.
Install ReShade as Usual
Now that everything is complete, you can install ReShade as usual (if you need help, make sure to follow our guide on how to installing ReShade). Once are prompted to select a Rendering API make sure to select “DirectX 10/11/12”.
